HOW DO WE GET STARTED?

  • Come in to the Rue Morgue Tattoo Gallery - we'll discuss your idea, work on a quote, schedule an appointment... all that good stuff.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A NEW TATTOO

  • Eat at least 4 hours prior to your appointment.

  • Try not to take/drink anything that will thin your blood (i.e. aspirin, acetaminophen, alcohol, etc.).

  • Please be well-groomed - I have single-blade razors to clear your site of minimal hair, etc. but excessive hair, general cleanliness, etc. is up to you. A tattoo requires close-quarters work - so it will be better for both of us if you don't, for example, come to your appointment after your workout before a shower!

  • Take good care of the area to be tattooed - keep it hydrated with lotion, be careful of scrapes and burns, avoid excessive sun exposure, etc.

HOW TO CARE FOR A NEW TATTOO

  • Wash with antibacterial soap and warm water 3-6 times daily depending on activity level; after working out, manual labor, gardening, etc. Keep it clean!

  • After every wash for the first 3 days put a very thin layer of Aquaphor on the tattoo. Should be shiny NOT glossy. Tattoo should be clean before applying ointment.

  • After the first 3 days stop use of Aquaphor and switch to a scent and dye free water based lotion. These lotions can include: Lubriderm, Jergans, Aveeno, and some baby lotions. Use this as much as needed; normally every time the tattoo is dry or itchy.

  • DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK YOUR TATTOO! This can pull ink out of the tattoos.

  • DO NOT submerge your tattoo in a bath, pool, or jacuzzi for at least 2 weeks or until all scabbing has healed. This could lead to infection, or ink to fall out of the tattoo as well.

  • DO NOT expose your tattoo to sun while it's healing. After tattoo is healed you can protect it by applying SPF54 or more.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

I try not to bore folks with too much legal jargon - but some expectations you should know about:

  • I do require a non-refundable cash deposit before starting any work.

  • Quotes and pricing may vary depending on a variety of factors.

  • You will be asked to fill out a consent form and provide a picture ID for age verification.

See? That wasn't so bad - just keeping everything on the up and up.
